Cutting to the Heart of the Story
I have almost two decades of experience editing and producing award-winning independent features, documentaries, unscripted TV, and short-form content for broadcast and digital platforms. I'm drawn to work that helps to find and bring out the emotional (or humorous) essence of a story, often from voluminous material, with close attention to visuals, music editing and sound design.

HIGHLIGHTED PROJECTS
Plastic Paradise
(Multiple award-winning
evironmental documentary)
Originally from New York, I studied Film & TV at Northwestern and began my career in the indie film world in LA in the early 2000s. My first project as lead editor was the gritty urban drama, All or Nothing (with Taraji P. Henson and other up-and-comers), one of LA’s first all-digital features and a festival award-winner. Other indie film projects included historical drama The Calling (Faye Dunaway, Robert Wagner), romantic comedy How to Lose Your Lover (Paul Schneider, Fred Willard, Tori Spelling), along with numerous award-winning narrative and documentary shorts.
I edited and served as additional camera for the acclaimed TV documentary, Still Riding: Rescue Company NYC (Discovery), which chronicled two elite units of the FDNY in the year before and in the aftermath of 9/11. All on-duty members of Rescue 1 (Manhattan) and Rescue 2 (Brooklyn) were lost, and the film remains a favorite of firefighters for its tribute to the fallen heroes as well as for its accurate depiction of life "on the job" and up-close look at harrowing structure fires and urban rescue operations.
Other TV projects include a half-dozen true-crime documentaries for Dateline (NBC), The Investigators and Dominick Dunne: Power, Privilege & Justice (TRU TV), Moments of Impact (Discovery), "Making the Cut” (Pilot), Designers's Challenge (HGTV), Under the Lights: Paul Westphal (Fox Sports), and travelogues Destination Tennisand Murphy’s Guide for Tennis Channel.
I worked with Ally Walker on her directorial debut, For Norman, Wherever You Are, which garnered Best Documentary at the Valley Film Festival and other honors. Sparked by a chance encounter and a spontaneous act of compassion, the film sought to answer a simple question: what happens to a young child once they enter the foster care system? And in the process, it uncovered neglect and corruption, helping to spur reform.
I edited and co-produced Dad’s in Heaven with Nixon, written and directed by Tom Murray, a deeply personal saga of a family over three generations, with a surprising and uplifting ending. The film was acquired by Showtime and is celebrated for its representation of autism and bipolar disorder. The New York Times praised the film’s storytelling, noting that it “weaves these interlocking stories together expertly—and impressively.”
I co-produced, co-wrote, filmed additional footage for and edited Plastic Paradise: The Great Pacific Garbage Patch, (Theatrical, Netflix & other platforms) taking the makings of a short film about Midway Atoll and expanding it into a feature documentary. The film was one of the first and the most graphic to illuminate the growing problem of plastic pollution and its impact on ecosystems and human health, winning numerous festival awards and continuing to be an central educational tool for teachers, students and activists.
Recently I have been cutting short and long-form unscripted content for Tennis Channel, its affiliate platforms and international streamers, which together comprise the premiere global portal for the sport’s stories. Projects include social impact documentaries and tales of historical figures, journeys of modern champions, and unsung heroes.
I’m fluent in Avid Media Composer, Adobe Premiere & After Effects.
